Wallington Stories
As a way of discussing the issues people have when accessing Wallington, we took to the streets to ask you what you like about the Town Centre, won't you dislike and what improvements you would like to see made. We have posted a selection of these 'Wallington Stories' to give you an idea of the issues other people have when using Wallington, and the improvements they would like to see made.
Keep an eye on this page as new Wallington Stories will be regularly posted.
"It's a very good location with good public transport links to other places like Sutton and Croydon. I don't drive so it's a positive to be able to walk to the shops every day."
Sarah & Lauren, outside Sainsbury
"We're sitting here because we had a 20 minute walk to the bus stop. Yes, it's good for our health but not very good for our knees!"
Chandrika and Smita, at the Bus Stop

"Public transport is very good. Bit more could be done to support the cyclists. The High Street needs enforced cycle lanes not advisory. The pavement is wide enough to have a cycle lane."
Duncan at Wallington Cycles

"This side of the bridge gets neglected which is a pity. Flooding under the bridge needs to be addressed. There used to be all independent shops once upon a time...Now there is a lack of varieety, too many charity shops, no department store."
Alice and Hazel (customer) at John King's Florist Shop
"One important thing would be to improve the safety for pedestrians at the junction of Woodcote Road and Safford Road. The pdestrian phase at this crossing seems to have been lost since Sainsbuty's was built."
